He was employed as a labourer, and stated his next of kin as his father, Frederick Pimm, of 31, Leyland Street, Derby. Five feet six and a half inches tall, he weighed 140 pounds, had a fair complexion, grey eyes and fair hair, and belonged to the Church of England. He had abnormally long great toes and a scar in the centre of his neck.
